7th Heaven 4 Dream Start

7th Heaven 4 Dream Start

Well the first weekend of the season finally arrived. Sun was out along with the wind and a few clouds were gathering as the 12.30 kick off v Ratoath approached. Excitement was high and positions picked – they knew the shape and the plan all they had to do was execute the plan Surely nothing could go wrong? But this is a great game football anything can and does happen. The wind picked up in the first half making it difficult for both teams and shots were not that forth coming Fionn O’Moore, Jamie Pollard (…)

Home win for the Under 13 Girls v St Ita’s A windy and wet day at Damastown did not dampen the delight and belief of the Under 13 Clonee United girls’ team ably steered by the fabulous and fun Julie O’Toole. Despite a recent injury to Jaime Thompson the team spirit of these girls shone through where the sun did not. A great competitive game all the way even for throw ins! The game started well for Clonee United with goals from one of the new stars who joined the team this season Abby Meade (…)

Smash & Grab

Smash & Grab

Clonee United Smash 8 Away as Mala Hide It was another great performance from the Under 15 Clonee United team this weekend as they again managed to win this time away from home at Malahide Castle. It was a tight game for the opening 20 minutes as both sides probed each other, then Emeka Ejike was brought down in the area – the referee gave it and signalled to the spot. Danny Ash the regular penalty taker stepped up – leaving the nerves behind and then slotted into the bottom right corner for one nil (…)

Whitehall whitewash at the Home Farm

Whitehall whitewash at the Home Farm

Under 13 N Home Farm 2 – 7 Clonee United A lovely Saturday morning and the two great teams of Home Farm and Clonee United met at the lovely Whitehall grounds. The weather was holding up and no snow was forecast. So all good. Another great game as always between these two competitive teams. It would appear though that the Navy blue of Clonee United MGL would win out. Football is “a funny old game “ as Mr Clough once said. Last week Rachel McCann could not buy a goal but this week she was (…)

Under 9 Grey Clonee United 11 – 5 Stamullen. On a windy wet day Saturday morning all seemed to be shaping up very well as the under 9 team came on to the pitch while the MGL were holding trials on the pitches adjacent. Stamullen started well and scored two quick goals as they stormed into an early lead. Clonee United though kept their shape with Lorcan Dunne resolute at the back and assisted by Conor Ash in Midfield covering back. Kristian Cooper started in goal. And Adam Curley was finding it tough to get (…)

New Season Brace for Regan!

New Season Brace for Regan!

Well the new season finally started for the Clonee United Under 15 team at Balheary Reservoir Home of Swords Celtic. Their coach Gerry has done a great job getting the team together and they have a great set up there. Clonee Utd gave debuts to two new signings in Liam Scanlon and TeeJay Gbadebo who both did themselves credit in the game. Liam in particular looked to fit in well at right back and grew in confidence. The midfield trio of Fionn O’Moore, Danny Ash and Ryan Edge gelled well together. With Fionn adding the (…)

Fantastic result for Clonee United UN13C who beat local rivals Dunshaughlin Youths on a score line of 3:0 last week. Cian Malone scored early on in the first half and not long after he doubled the advantaged with a brilliant strike to give Clonee and well deserved lead going into the break, Sean Dempsey added a sublime third goal late on in the game to seal all three points for the home team. This was a great team effort by all, and the introduction of our substitutions proved key to what was a very successfully (…)
