U15 Premier Girls – match report
Home Farm 0 – 2 Clonee Utd.
Clonee United Under 15 Premier girls kept up their winning streak with a great 0-2 win away at Home Farm.
The girls were excellent today, playing great football throughout, but lacked that clinical finish that could have made the victory a little more comfortable.
After a raft of chances missed and good saves from the Home Farm GK Clonee finally took the lead on the stroke of half time when, after some nice tight passing, Zoe Musake was played through on goal and she made no mistake with the finish, placing her shot down low to the keepers left and into the back of the net.
Clonee wingers Sarah O’Neill and Erin McLoughlin were a constant threat down either side and really ran the Home Farm full backs ragged throughout the whole game.
In the second half it was more of the same.
Constant Clonee possession but again lacking that clinical edge in front of goal.
Clonee central midfielder Amie Harmon had a few great long range second half efforts saved by the keeper.
With 5 mins to go and against the run of play Home Farm looked like they were about to spoil the party only for some excellent defending by Captain Orlaith Maguire and her central defence partner Abby Slattery.
The victory was sealed right at full time when after a long through ball was chased by the impressive again Amie Harman, the Clonee midfielder harassed the Home Farm centre back and the ball ricocheted into the bottom corner.
Full time and 0-2 win away from home for the Clonee girls who stay at the top of the premier table.
