FAI Late Night Leagues

Posted on: November 1st, 2021 by clonadmin

Hi all,

I hope this note finds you well.

For the month of November the FAI are hosting Late Night Leagues across the entire Fingal area.

Our Late Night Leagues are ran in conjunction with An Garda Siochana. Our objective is to provide an opportunity for teenagers / young adults to socialise and play football in a safe environment, during peak anti-social hours. We also want to try break down barriers between young adults and An Garda Siochana.

After the 4 weeks, the winners from each location will represent Dublin 15 in Irish Town Stadium on December 10th in the Late Night League Final.

We would really appreciate if you could help us promote this programme across all social media platforms, regularly over the coming weeks. To help we have some template posts below and attached posters but feel free to create your own as well. All information regarding each venue is on our poster. We have attached 1 group poster with all information provided and 3 individual posters with information for only 1 location.

If you have any questions or would like to help out and get involved on the night, just give me a shout.

Again I appreciate the support with promoting this programme.

All the best,
Sean.

Monumental day for Clonee United

Posted on: September 18th, 2021 by clonadmin
Today was a monumental day for Clonee United as all the photos and videos will show. After near 20 years of football and 10 years of girls football in the area we finally hit the jackpot and got a visit from ROI manager Vera Pauw along with full senior squad, Vera and the squad wasted no time and immediately set out the pitches to exacting standard and began to coach all our girls. A game between a selection of our top U14prem girls v our top U13s boys was watched closely by FAI high performance director Rudd Dokter. There is absolutely no doubt that amount the 9 to 19 year old girls present that we will have girls wearing the green international Jersey in the future which is testament to the high standards to which the girls are trained.
We started 10 years ago with 8 girls and thanks to the continuing relentless efforts of John Bassi and John Paul Hendrick this has grown to over 150 with the help of all our committee and coaches who strive for excellence.
On a personal note I have attended many cup finals and league Cup presentations over my 19 years with the club but today was my proudest moment to see such awe and joy in all the players to meet their idol’s and share the same pitch as them, today makes it all worthwhile as at the end of the day it’s the kids on the pitch what counts.
With the help of FAI Development Officer Sean Moore and Fingal Co council we hope to build Clonee United into a super club within the Dublin 15 area
On behalf of Clonee United please enjoy all our photos below
Yours in sport
Matt McGoldrick

Clonee Mini Leagues 2021

Posted on: July 10th, 2021 by clonadmin
Today we wrapped up the mini leagues with all our teams playing their finals. The weather started out a little wet but it didn’t stop the players producing the highest standard of football.
A couple of thank yous from the committee. To all the under 18′ boys who came down and helped coach teams, referee games and help put goals up and down.
To the under 19 girls who help coach, referee game. Thanks to Kiera and Lucy who ran the hotdog stand all week.
To Tina and all the ladies who looked after the sideline cafe, thanks your help was invaluable. We always need help in the cafe so if you can help out any weekend please let us know.
To the committee, this week doesn’t just happen, it requires many hands and minds to happen. I think we can all agree that from the quality of pitches to the marking on the pitches, Damastown looked fantastic. The club urgently needs new committee members so if you would like to join a fantastic team please drop us a line.
Finally to the reason we arranged the mini leagues, due to all the registrations received and some donations from people over the week, we managed to collect €3,500 for Sienna’s Steps. As a club and community I think we can all be proud of the efforts put in this week.
Thank you and hopefully we see you all on the sidelines in the new season.

While it is fantastic news that we will be back training new week albeit non contact , Clonee United are very committed to abiding by all protocols set out by the government and the FAI, therefore we would ask all our members to familiarize themselves with the below information. There will be a covid officer on site for the duration of all scheduled training if you have any questions or concerns.
