On behalf of the committee I would like to update you all on the happenings within the club. Firstly it will be April at the earliest when the next announcements regarding lock-down are advised but the club have been busy regardless. Over the last couple of weeks we have been working very hard on formalizing a coaching ethos within the club and it is with great pleasure that I can announce the following. Along with securing a continued partnership with Coerver coaching we have now become an affiliate club with league of Ireland champions Shamrock Rovers ☘ this will offer potential player’s a pathway on to league of Ireland football our coaches have already had online tutorials with their coaching staff and we look forward to getting out on the pitch for full on sessions. We are also delighted to announce (subject to restrictions) that our annual Clonee United mini leagues are scheduled for late June and will be free to enter for all current members. Shamrock Rovers will also be hosting a summer camp in July exclusive to Clonee United players.
Although we are locked down as regards sport the club is still functioning full and our pitches and facilities are still being maintained fully and are ready for use the second we get the nod. We look forward to seeing you all again in Damastown very soon. Keep safe
Yours in sport

Match report Leinster football league U19

Match report Leinster football league u19
Eastwall Beggsboro 3
Clonee United 3
This was Clonee Utds first ever game in the LFL and they came away undefeated. It must be said that they were playing away from home and 3v1 up looking easy and then a few injuries – notably David Nduko at centre back which upset the rhythm of the team and allowed Ewbeggsboro to claw back and get a point.
It all started so well for Clonee and then against the run of play Ew took the lead with a 30 yard screamer.
Then a lovely passing give and go move started by Luke O’Grady using PJ Campbell and Emeke Ejike as he sliced the Ew team and scored his first Clonee goal on his debut.
Adam Maher then made a telling tackle and played a lovely through ball past the defenders for Sean Cleary to pounce on and score. His second was also beautifully taken on the right hand side of the pitch.
Some good football and some bad football, but it was and is football.
We move forward united we stand.
